Contacts & CRM

Build and segment your contact database, import from CSV/Excel, create groups and custom fields, connect Salesforce or Zoho, and run bulk actions.

1

Add a contact manually

Create a single CRM contact.

  1. From My Contacts, click Create Contact (or open CRM → Contacts).
  2. Fill the required fields (red *) — Contact ID, First Name, Last Name, Email, Contact Group, Company Name and Job Title.
  3. Add optional details — Middle Name, Date of Birth, Phone (with country code), and education fields.
  4. To add a group on the fly, choose + Add New in the Contact Group dropdown.
  5. Click Save.
2

Import contacts from Excel or CSV

Bulk-load your list with column mapping.

  1. Go to CRM → Import Contacts and click Download sample file for the correct layout.
  2. Click Upload File and select your .xls, .xlsx or .csv (use CSV for lists over 5000 rows).
  3. Choose an import mode — add as new, update existing only, or import without validation.
  4. Click Next to open the field-mapping table.
  5. Map each Field in File to a Field in CRM, using the row previews to confirm.
  6. Click Save to import.
The importer won't create duplicates — it skips contacts that already exist based on Email ID. Different column names are fine; you map them in the mapping step.
3

Check import history & fix bad uploads

See valid vs invalid rows per file.

  1. Open CRM → Import History (Uploaded Contacts).
  2. Review per-file counts — Total, Valid, Invalid, Deleted, Status.
  3. Open a file to see tiles — Total Uploaded, Valid, Invalid, Pending, Deleted.
  4. Click a tile to filter rows; use Delete Upload Contact to remove a bad upload.
4

Create contact groups (segments)

Organize contacts for targeting.

  1. Open CRM → Contact Groups and click New Contact Group.
  2. Enter a Name (required); optionally assign users/roles and notes.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Use Advanced Search to filter groups; use row actions to edit, change status or delete.
5

Create custom contact fields

Capture the data you actually need.

  1. Open the contact configuration screen and click New.
  2. Enter a Field Name and description, choose a Group and a Field Type.
  3. Tick Is Mandatory if the field must be filled.
  4. For choice fields, set the number of options and type each option label.
  5. Click Add — the field is now available on contacts and forms.
6

Sync Salesforce or Zoho

Two-way contact & account sync.

  1. Open the CRM Integrations screen and connect Salesforce and/or Zoho.
  2. Open Field mapping for the provider and choose the Object (Contact or Account).
  3. Click + Add mapping and set the EventTitans field, the CRM field and the Direction per row.
  4. Mark exactly one row as the Key (external id) field and click Save mapping.
Records match by the EventTitans external id (the Key field), never by email or phone. Create a custom key field in your CRM (e.g. EventTitans_Id__c) to hold it.
7

Run bulk actions on selected contacts

Message, move, export or delete in one go.

  1. In My Contacts, tick Select all or pick individual rows.
  2. Open the bulk-actions menu — Send Email/SMS/WhatsApp promotions, Send Survey, or add as event attendee.
  3. To move/copy, use Move Contacts / Copy Contacts and pick the target group.
  4. To export, click Export, choose the fields, and click Proceed.
  5. Confirm destructive actions (delete) in the popup.
8

Build a community from groups

Turn contact groups into an engaged community.

  1. Open Communities and click New Communities.
  2. Enter a Community Name (required) and optional notes.
  3. Select one or more Contact Groups to include.
  4. Click Save, then open the Community Dashboard to see members and companies.

.xls, .xlsx or .csv. Use CSV for large lists (over 5000 rows per file).

No — the importer skips contacts that already exist based on Email ID, so re-importing a list won't duplicate people.

Yes. The mapping step lets you match any file column to the matching CRM field before saving.

It skips email validation on import. Validation otherwise consumes Email Validation Credits — a separate pool used to verify addresses are deliverable.

Contact ID, First Name, Last Name, Email, Contact Group, Company Name and Job Title.

Yes — select contacts in My Contacts and choose Send Email, SMS or WhatsApp promotions, or send a Survey/Evaluator.

The first removes the contacts entirely; the second only removes them from a chosen group while keeping the contact records.

By an EventTitans external id (the Key field you map), never by email or phone. You set the sync direction per field, and can map both Contacts and Accounts.

In the Export Contacts popup, select just the fields you want under Select Contact Fields, then click Proceed.

See member and company counts with tabs for Members and Companies (Member Chats and Community Wall are marked coming soon).

Yes — the column tune icon opens a picker so you can toggle fields like Lead Stage, Deal Value or Community on and off.

Groups organize related custom fields together; create one with a name and notes, then assign fields to it.
